At Lancome's Paris headquarters a spokeswoman insisted that the firm planned to continue with Rossellini at least until her contract ends in 1996. Rossellini has just shot an ad for Lancome's new skin care product, and a commercial for Tresor, she said. In New York, Rossellini's Ford agent, Joe Hunter, believes she was misquoted in the Italian newspaper and said, "It was mutually agreed upon with Lancome that she would continue to do Tresor, but be freed up to do other things. There are no sour grapes."
Match, the new restaurant from Billy Gilroy of Lucky Strike, is not even open yet, but it's going to be one of the hottest spots in town this week. John Waters has booked a private party there tonight and Quentin Crisp, David Byrne, Todd Oldham and Suzanne Bartsch are expected. Isaac Mizrahi will hold a private post-show dinner there on Tuesday for staff and supermodels. For everybody else, Match will open at the end of the month.
