Le Colonial is one of the hottest spots in New York on Sunday nights -- maybe because there doesn't seem to be a dress code. The Duchess of York was dining there the other night with Daniel and Nina Griscom Baker, Morgan Entrekin and Blaine Trump, and their dinner attire was wildly eclectic -- Fergie in what looked like a gardening dress, Nina in a man's polo shirt and Blaine in a bunny-rabbit pink pantsuit. Fergie kept sending her lady-in-waiting, Christine Galliher, upstairs and all over the restaurant with her portable phone to do her bidding. Meanwhile, Susan and John Gutfreund were dining together across the room, as was Issey Miyake.

They weren't your run-of-the-mill ladies having a boisterous lunch at Mortimer's on Friday -- Anjelica Huston, Lorraine Bracco, Lyndall Hobbs, Joan Juliet Buck, Susanna Moore, Jean Pagliuso, Susan Forestal, Carol Kane and Patricia Duff. Afterward, several of them piled into Anjelica's limousine and headed over to Manolo Blahnik for a little shoe-shopping spree. The one foot fetish all the ladies indulged in -- whether they bought it or not -- was the new Lucite mule, or "the Cinderella shoe," as they called it.

Donna Karan may have flown in to be by her best friend's side in London, but that's not stopping Barbra Streisand from playing the fashion field. On Monday, John Galliano flew into London from Paris at Streisand's personal invitation. The designer was going to catch Streisand's show last night, then join the diva for afternoon tea today. Perhaps Barbra is looking to add a little drama to her fashion act. As everyone knows, drama is Galliano's specialty.
