From the pace of Diane von Furstenberg’s social calendar of late (her name has appeared on no fewer than eight invitations in the last two weeks, not including the Met gala, which only had room for one host), one might presume that the CFDA’s commander in chief is hot on the reelection trail. But the CFDA’s brief flirtation with term limits has been history since von Furstenberg took office. And with her presidency locked in through 2012, it seems she’s on the Miss Popular ballot. As far as von Furstenberg is concerned, it all boils down to timing. And she always has time for a good cause. “I travel a lot and sometimes it all gets piled up in one week,” she says. “I do take on a lot of things, but I’m at a point in my life where I can help a lot of people. It’s not just playing social.” Here, the DVF master tip sheet to break down her recent whats, wheres, whens and whys, because you already know who.
