Sarah Michelle Gellar in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”: As cheerleader-by-day, vampire-slayer-by-night Buffy Summers, Gellar battled demons for six seasons (1997 to 2003) on the WB series, a spin-off of the campy, 1992 flick starring Kristy Swanson and Luke Perry. Things got complicated when Gellar actually falls for a fanged one, the sensitive Angel (played by David Boreanaz).
Anna Paquin in “True Blood”: In the HBO runaway hit, based on Charlaine Harris’ cult novels “The Southern Vampire Mysteries,” Paquin is in her second season portraying telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse. Finding mere mortals impossible to date, she ends up falling for coffin dweller Bill Compton, played by Paquin’s real-life boyfriend, Stephen Moyer.
Kristen Stewart in the “Twilight” series: As reclusive teenager Bella Swan, Stewart finds she’s finally able to open up to classmate — and vampire — Edward Cullen, played by heartthrob Robert Pattinson. “New Moon,” the latest installment of the hit film series based on the wildly popular books by Stephanie Meyer, hits theaters on Nov. 20.
Isabel Lucas in “Daybreakers”: In the upcoming sci-fi flick, set in the year 2019, the “Transformers” star plays Alison Bromley, the only human to survive a plague that has turned the rest of the world’s population into vampires. Ethan Hawke and Willem Dafoe also star in the film, set to arrive on screens in January.
