It seems nothing makes a movie star smile quite so brightly as when there are diamonds in the picture. At Chopard's 150th anniversary party at The Frick Collection on Thursday night a beaming—and decked out—lot of blue chip celebs including Christina Ricci, Claire Danes, Natalie Cole and an expectant Georgina Chapman perused the firm's new Animal World collection, designed to celebrate the company's anniversary. "I don't collect things as 'Aha' as this ring," cooed Gwyneth Paltrow, pointing to her enormous Chopard rose-cut diamond cocktail ring. "I can't afford things like this...I collect young jewelers like Jen Meyer and I have been wearing pieces by Kristen Farrell." Kate Hudson sported a revamped version of the ring Chopard made for her character in "Nine." "It ain't bad," she chimed, adding of her elaborate ring and necklace loaner, "This'll put you in bankruptcy." Apparently not, as the firm sold upwards of 12 pieces that night to clients who were serenaded by tunes John Legend after dinner.
