As the Cannes International Film Festival closed Sunday, a few boldfaced names reflected on their personal highlights.
Joana Preiss, model, actress, singer: “The Madame Aime concert on Wednesday. I’ve done plenty of concerts before, but it’s very different when you are singing a cover version. I was so nervous.”
Vahina Giaconte, actress: “The [Pedro] Almodóvar film [“Broken Embraces”], seeing that partnership again between a director and his muse [Penélope Cruz]. Also, letting off balloons for the charity Innocence en Danger [International Child Protection Movement], and some really amazing parties.”
Harvey Weinstein, producer, “Inglourious Basterds”: “It’s a tie between the ‘Inglourious Basterds’ premiere — the dance between Quentin Tarantino and Mélanie Laurent on the red carpet was great — and amfAR.”
Diane Kruger, actress, “Inglourious Basterds”: “The ‘Inglourious Basterds’ premiere. Just seeing so many people come out was amazing, but then also the reaction of the audience. I’ve never had an 11-minute standing ovation.”
Elodie Bouchez, actress: “Gaspar Noé’s ‘Enter The Void.’ The movie is sublime.”
Julie Gayet, actress, “Un certain regard”: “Sharon Stone asking me for a cigarette at a party.”
