When a handcuffed Jaynie Mae Baker arrived at the State Supreme Court in lower Manhattan for her arraignment on Tuesday, it wasn’t only the count of promoting prostitution, for which she faces a potential seven-year sentence, that caught attention. Her understated beauty also turned a few heads. Clad in a sky-blue blouse and flat-front khaki pants, her strawberry blonde hair blown out to appealing imperfection, Baker looked the personification of waspy charm. Meanwhile, her alleged accomplice, Anna Gristina, who ran the brothel for which Baker was supposedly recruiting, did her court turn last week in a practical herringbone knit, prompting the media to dub her the “Soccer Mom Madam.” Oh, how the madams have changed.
