The Traina clan pulled out all the stops for their biennial Fourth of July barn dance held at the family's Napa Valley vineyard. There were covered wagons, rope-twirling rhinestone cowboys, fortune-tellers, and a first-rate mariachi band. The guests didn't disappoint, either. O.J. Shansby arrived wearing an authentic Native American beaded suede tunic from the 1800s, complete with a headdress. "Chanel doesn't do country western," she pointed out.

Samantha Traina also topped her gauzy Balenciaga dress with a feathered number. "I made it while we were lying around the pool this afternoon," she said.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Trainas and Dede Wilsey, Vanessa Carlton, Norah Stone, Kathleen Turner and Maria Manetti Farrow do-si-doed in the barn.

Across the pond, Stella McCartney hosted a dinner at Harvey Nichols' Fifth Floor Restaurant Thursday night to launch her organic clothing collection there. "It's in now — I came in with my boxes," said the designer, who personally delivered the line to the store.

McCartney's husband, Alasdhair Willis, her sister Mary, Maria Sharapova, Camilla Belle, Corinne Day, Bella Freud, Dasha Zhukova, Mike Figgis, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor sipped rosé Champagne and Pimm's in the candlelit space. "Stella's pieces are so feminine," said Sharapova, who along with Belle was just back from attending the Valentino couture show in Paris.

"We're seeing friends and then it's shopping, lunches...you know, girl stuff," said Belle of their plans for the rest of their London stay.

Earlier that evening, Stefano Pilati toasted Yves Saint Laurent's new Edition 24 collection at Dover Street Market. Daphne Guinness, Stephen Jones and Sally Albemarle gathered to congratulate the designer. Longtime colleagues Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer posed for photographs, though it seems after all these years there is still some professional rivalry. "Claudia's always been taller than me," Campbell — in 5-inch stiletto platforms — griped to photographers.
