TOURBILLON TIME: Luxe watchmaker Breguet helped kick off Carnegie Hall’s opening night Wednesday with the unveiling of a specially crafted Breguet clock, which sits inside the lobby of the famed concert hall.
Breguet USA’s brand president Michael Nelson unveiled the impressive tourbillon timepiece, along with Carnegie Hall’s board chairman Sanford Weill and executive and artistic director Clive Gillinson. “This is not just any clock, this is a tourbillon clock,” Nelson said, while pulling back a sheet to reveal the shiny timepiece, whose exposed gears moved furiously.
“This is a first for us,” Nelson offered. “We’ve never installed a tourbillon clock in North America.”
