M/Mink Eau de Parfum Launches in Paris

French graphic design duo M/M (Paris) drew a slew of creative types for the launch of their ink-inspired fragrance by Byredo Parfums.

DIAL M FOR...: A dinner in Paris for the launch of the ink-inspired M/Mink Eau de Parfum by Byredo Parfums that was created jointly with the French graphic design duo M/M (Paris) drew a slew of creative types including Penny Martin, Craig McDean, Erin Wasson, Pat McGrath and Pierre Hardy.

 

The event was held at the trendy Costes eatery, Hôtel Thoumieux. Artist Francesco Vezzoli, who plans to transform New York’s Gagosian Gallery into a church in January, said he’s concocting his own fragrance for the project. “I want to produce a scent that’s incestuous, incense, insensitive smell,” he said. Kanye West revealed M/M is designing the cover for his next album, “My Dark Beautiful Twisted Fantasy,” scheduled for release in November.

 

M/M’s Michael Amzalag said he and partner Mathias Augustyniak are also working on a “very ambitious” multimedia project with Bjork, who is currently working on a 3D film project with Michel Gondry. “She’s really pushing her limits…she’s trying to go back to her work as a composer and anchoring that into nature and techno,” he said.

 

Meanwhile, furniture by M/M, including chairs, chandeliers, carpets and door handles, will feature in Hôtel Thoumieux’s new 20-seat gastronomic restaurant and bar Jean-Francois Piège is to host on the first floor, as well as 15 hotel rooms, designed by India Mahdavi, who was also at the dinner. The area is scheduled to open in early November.
