“Isn’t this weather just perfect?” Linda Fargo said, clicking down the windy walkway toward the entrance of the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, N.Y., on Saturday night. Art types and Hamptons scenesters were filing into the museum — a glistening architectural gem that brightens up the view for those stuck in traffic on Route 27 — for its annual midsummer soiree, this year honoring Maren Otto and Katharina Otto-Bernstein.

“Every time I ride by, I’m reminded how spectacular this building is,” said Lisa Perry before making her way inside. Perry’s been supporting the museum since its inception. “The East End has been in need of a major museum for some time now. This is such a beautiful space, now we just need to fill it with great art.”

Nymphlike performers dotted the museum lawn, many covered in faux foliage and scarves. Inside, guests grabbed cocktails in the lucent space, the galleries echoing with the voices of Sandra Lee, Whitney Fairchild, Nicole Miller, Robert Wilson, Kyle DeWoody, Jamee Gregory, Helen Lee Schifter, Dorothy Lichtenstein, Keith Sonnier, Debbie Bancroft and Ross Bleckner.

“I’m so glad they have Uber now out here,” one guest said, sighing into her phone as guests were corralled into the dining room. “How much do you think it will cost to get me back to East Hampton?”
