"This is our guerrilla store," said Derek Lam, standing inside a barn on the Seinfelds' estate, where the designer's fall collection for Tod's was being shopped by some of Jessica Seinfeld's close friends. The petite brunette had invited everyone over for a ladies luncheon and shopping to benefit her Baby Buggy charity. Gwyneth Paltrow bought a cashmere trench coat, Kelly Ripa purchased a gift for her sister-in-law and Diane Kruger browsed among the bags.
While Seinfeld did indeed keep her head in the game, encouraging other guests including Kelly Rutherford and Tracy Pollan to buy, she was a tad preoccupied by the fact that she was also hosting a dinner party that evening. As waiters brought unfinished plates of caprese salad, grilled shrimp and lobster back into the kitchen, she said, "I keep wanting to ask them what they're doing with the leftovers."
