Ferragamo Toasts Resort with Drinks at the Carlyle

The house brought a little Italian inspiration to the Upper East Side after its presentation on Tuesday night.

After the Ferragamo Resort 2012 presentation at the James B. Duke House on Tuesday afternoon, the crowd, well some of it anyway, pointed towards the Carlyle Hotel for a cocktail reception. Once inside, waiters offered Italian 75s a Ferragamo-tailored take on the French cocktail that proved a bit too sweet for some.

“Oh, this is like frozen juice concentrate,” Emma Roberts grimaced, who, legally speaking, wasn’t quite drink ready anyway. Right?

“Well, I’m heading off to my hotel to hang out with my friends tonight,” Roberts offered by way of explanation, arching an eyebrow and departing soon after.

Despite a draw of boldfaced names at the presentation that included Eva Mendes, Minka Kelly, Freida Pinto and Ashley Greene, Roberts was the only Hollywood presence in the room. A few partiers blamed the Fifth Avenue gridlock.

“We did a lot of people’s makeup for tonight, Genevieve Jones, Hilary Rhoda, myself and hers…” Lauren Remington Platt, makeup artist booking service Vênsette, said. “But actually I didn’t see Genevieve? She was supposed to be next to me for the presentation. Maybe she’s stuck in traffic? I hope she’s okay? We’ll see her at dinner.”

Jones actually was inside, sampling the hors d’oeuvres and chatting with Lady Liliana Cavendish before heading off to reconvene with Remington Platt. Hannah Bronfman held court by a banquette.

“I want to go to Italy like, right now,” she said recalling the show’s looks. “And wear all of them. Forever.”
