One hardly needs an excuse to celebrate fashion, but on Tuesday Dior, with W magazine and hostesses Colleen Bell and Katherine Ross, found two by throwing a ladies lunch at Bell’s home to celebrate the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s “Fashioning Fashion” exhibit and to present its cruise 2011 collection. Crystal Lourd, Gwen McCaw (in town from Seattle), Shiva Rose, Barbara Guggenheim, Alexandra von Furstenberg, Elizabeth Stewart, Wendy Goldberg, Jenny Belushi and Maria Bell took in the pink, girly collection in Bell’s light-filled dining room. “That would look great on my daughter. But she’s seven,” mused Jane Buckingham. But the serene scene was different a few hours before. “I feel like a roadie,” said Bell, explaining that she had to move her daughter’s drum set out of the room before the two long lunch tables could be set up. “It’s fashion show by day, rock concert by night.”
