The name Armani is one of the most bandied-about on awards show red carpets, particularly at the Oscars. So it wasn’t surprising that when Roberta Armani threw a party at Giorgio Armani’s Rodeo Drive boutique in Beverly Hills Friday night to toast Oscar-nominated filmmakers Martin Scorsese and Paolo Sorrentino, the bash drew major talent.

Jamie Foxx, Glenn Close, Samuel L. Jackson, Patricia Clarkson, Edoardo Ponti, Emmy Rossum, Dianna Agron, Caitlin FitzGerald, Mamie Gummer and Joshua Jackson were among those who showed up. Even Cate Blanchett, who did double duty presenting the Walk of Style award to Catherine Martin, came to congratulate the directors. “[“Wolf of Wall Street” and “La grande bellezza”] are two of my favorite films from this year. They are extraordinary filmmakers, and there’s a long friendship, both creative and professional, with Mr. Armani, as I have myself,” she said. “I’ve had a very long creative involvement with Mr. Armani. He’s been very generously involved with the theater company that up until recently I ran with my husband Andrew [Upton], and he’s designed costumes for a play I directed, and now being the face of his fragrance, it keeps growing and expanding into often quite unpredictable areas.”

One up-and-coming guest also got Scorsese’s attention — Miles Teller, the star of Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner “Whiplash” and Independent Spirit Award Best Actor nominee for “The Spectacular Now.” “He wrote me a letter a while ago and asked me to be in a film he was producing called ‘Let It Bleed,’ about boxing,” said Teller, who leaves in a few weeks to shoot “The Fantastic Four,” followed by the “Divergent” sequel “Insurgent.” “This is just crazy,” mused Scorsese of the vortex of actors swirling around him. Stepping in from the rain, Olivia Munn was eager to get in the mix, saying, “I want to have my picture taken before my hair falls flat.”
