New Yorkers love a party and Marrakech seems as good a reason as any to throw one, and that’s exactly what happened Tuesday night at Skylight Studios when “honorary ambassadors” Anjelica Huston and Alan Cumming teamed up with the Moroccan National Tourist office for a dinner in the city’s honor. Waris Ahluwalia, Wes Anderson, Ulla Parker, Marjorie Gubelmann, Marisa Noel Brown and Zani Gugelmann were on hand for the affair, which featured a sitar player, caftan-clad attendants and silver lanterns.

They were presumably authentic touches, though Huston and Cumming weren’t exactly the ones to ask. The extent of Cumming’s experience with the destination was a recent New York Times article. “I can’t wait to go to Marrakech,” he told the crowd. Huston, meanwhile, had visited the city on several occasions before, but most recently 15 years ago. “This seems to remind me of the place, yes,” she said.
