“This is the Russian bordello room,” Sybil Yurman joked as the likes of Bruno Frisoni, Betty Catroux, Lee Radziwill and Loulou de la Falaise filed into red-velvet-lined Mathis bar for a Paris Fashion Week send-off hosted by Georgina Brandolini and art dealer Thaddaeus Ropac. Yurman, dressed in a mix of Martin Margiela, Valentino and Marni, reported a strong reception to the first David Yurman European outpost at the Printemps department store, with French, Chinese and Russian snapping up its jewelry and watches. Given Brandolini’s roots, a strong Brazilian contingent packed into the dining room, with the first course a boxed gift from the Yurmans: a dog tag necklace for men and a silver bracelet for women studded with either onyx or blue opal. De la Falaise, dressed head to toe in black, was pleased hers sported the latter stone. “I don’t trust blue opal,” she laughed.
