A SWEET FAIRY TALE
The new Vanilla Bakery located a few steps from Piazza Wagner looks like a dollhouse. The white wooden floors, chairs, sofas and tables, which appear as if they are made from clear sugar, match the cotton-candy-pink walls, all decorated with glossy chocolate details.
The main idea behind this delicious project is to introduce the English-American dessert tradition to the Italian public. Cupcakes are the stars of the bakery, available in regular and miniature sizes, in all colors and flavors — from classic red velvet to deep chocolate. They’re showcased like jewelry in a large glass display cabinet at the entrance.
An array of cakes ranges from the original New York cheesecake to carrot cake. In addition, on Mondays the bakery holds a course on cake decoration for children and adults.
For those lacking a sweet tooth, Vanilla Bakery also offers American club sandwiches, pastrami wraps and veggie salads. A weekend brunch and Italian aperitifs round out the menu.
