TO SEE: “Coco Chanel: A New Portrait Painted By Marion Pike, Paris, 1967-71”
The friendship between Coco Chanel and California artist Marion Pike is now on display at Palazzo Morando in an exhibition curated by the London College of Fashion’s professor of costume history, Amy de la Haye.
Besides Pike’s Chanel portraits, visitors will find a selection of clothes and objects the designer made for the painter and her daughter, photographer Jeffie Pike Durham, and a large collection of photographs, personal documents and letters that illustrate the affection Chanel and Pike felt for each other.
