It’s the first time the City of Light is hosting the tournament and the town is certainly getting dressed up for the occasion. The Quai Branly museum will devote an exhibition to the sport from Sept. 1 until Oct. 20 dubbed “The Cultural Medley.” The show boasts music concerts and lectures as well as art exhibits themed around the sport and the diverse cultures of the 20 qualifying nations. Even the museum’s terrace will be transformed into a miniature rugby pitch. Meanwhile, “Rugby, a World of Emotions” will be on show at the Hotel de Ville until Oct. 27: a series of rugby-themed photographs, films and texts to transport visitors to the center of the action. And, in honor of France’s love of the sport, the Eiffel Tower will share its lawn with a giant rugby ball–shaped venue set up by the New Zealand team, the famed All Blacks. Retailers also will get in on the action: For instance, Colette will aptly lend its windows to Ralph Lauren’s Rugby line.
