Origins: Opened in April, the casual hipster spot serves vegan comfort food like mac and cheese as well as seemingly guilty pleasures (tempeh bacon chili cheeseburger, anyone?). It also houses a KindKreme counter, the raw vegan ice cream chain founded by Mollie Engelhart, daughter of Café Gratitude’s owners.
Signature dishes: Savory sweet potato pancakes made with corn and cilantro are served with a blueberry chipotle jam and chili lime yogurt, while the sweet version is served with maple syrup and soy butter. KindKreme offers waffle cones and ice cream cookie sandwiches along with banana splits.
