After a tedious construction project lasting almost two years, Madrid’s main retail thoroughfare, Calle Serrano, is back in business. Shoppers are moving into fall with interseasonal looks that include draped, slouchy tops and knit dresses over jeans, stovepipe pants or leggings; denim in various states of distress; pattern mixes and ethnic references, and oversize scarves. Boots are the big accessory, from short styles to over-the-knee heights, along with satchels (especially for men), big tote bags and fringe.
