PARIS — Construction of the Frank Gehry-designed Louis Vuitton Foundation for Creation in the Bois de Boulogne here cleared a regulatory hurdle this week when a court-appointed referee rejected an appeal by the Coordination for the protection of the Bois de Boulogne organization.
In February, the court had annulled certain regulations concerning construction in Paris’ wooded and green spaces. Works on it were never interrupted, however, and Vuitton is aiming to open the art foundation in 2012.
As reported, Vuitton is giving a preview of some of its art treasures with an ambitious exhibition running May 22 to Aug. 9 at the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Among selections going on display are large-scale works by the likes of Jeff Koons, Andreas Gursky, Pierre Huyghe, Gilbert & George and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
