There’s been a changing of the retail guard at investment bank Peter J. Solomon Co.
Cathy Leonhardt and David Shiffman are now heading up the company’s global retail practice.
They take the reins from Marc Cooper, who was promoted to vice chairman and will add the additional responsibility of “sourcing and executing transactions across the firm’s various industry verticals and product offerings.”
Both Leonhardt and Shiffman are managing directors. Leonhardt joined the company a decade ago from Morgan Stanley. Shiffman joined last year and was formerly head of retail investment banking at Goldman Sachs.
Peter J. Solomon has a wide reach in fashion. Last year it advised PVH Corp. on its $2.9 billion takeover of Warnaco Group Inc.; Kenneth Cole on his $279 million deal to take Kenneth Cole Productions Inc. private; The TJX Cos. Inc. in its $200 million acquisition of Sierra Trading Post, and Rag & Bone in its deal to sell a minority stake to Irving Place Capital.
