Indeed, beside the handful of models done up to look like specific personalities from yesteryear, including Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando and Edith Head, others were even more far-flung image-wise. Some models, for instance, had gold-colored foil or gold-hued spray paint applied on their coifs. Others sported brightly colored sponges (a nod to Dali, said d’Ys) or stuffed crows.
“It is a fantastical world,” said makeup artist Pat McGrath, who created abstract shapes on faces.
