Beauty looks at Alexander McQueen, created by makeup artist Peter Philips and hairstylist Paul Hanlon, were divided into two sections.

For the first part of the fashion show, they were inspired by the Victorian era. Models sported heavy eyebrows, and their hair was semifrizzy, semistraight. In the second section, with an Elizabethan take, fair-haired models had more classic eyebrows spangled with a tint of gold, and their hair was sleek — twisted into updos ending with a tuft.

“The skin is pure,” said Philips. “We worked with highlight pigments and powders.”

MAC Cosmetics was the makeup sponsor.
