Equestrian themes galloped throughout the beauty looks — and clothes — that were created for Yohji Yamamoto’s fall fashion show on Monday.

Hairstylist Eugene Souleiman braided locks of models’ hair into something like a basket weave, similar to horsetails. “It’s very craft-oriented,” he said.

Meanwhile, makeup artist Pat McGrath had false tattoos in the form of horses inked on a handful of models’ midriffs. Models’ eyes, smudged in a black, graphic fashion, were almost like an insignia, said McGrath, adding that for the look she used numerous products, including cream shadows and powder, plus Max Factor Night Club eyeliner.
