Strong dark lips, a recurring theme backstage during London Fashion Week, were also the center of attention at Giles. “It feels very contemporary,” makeup artist Miranda Joyce, who was working with MAC Cosmetics, said of the trend. At the show, she created a glossy black mouth using MAC Pro Chromacake, which was topped with Lipglass gloss. Cheekbones were highlighted using gloss, lashes were coated with Plush Lash mascara and brows were groomed with Brow Set in Clear.

Hairstylist Samantha Hillerby, who was representing Toni & Guy’s Label.M brand, worked an equestrian theme into hair, braiding ponytails with fishtail plaits reminiscent of horses’ tails at a show-jumping event. Hair was straightened using irons before being pulled back into severe ponytails positioned just below the crown and plaited. Hillerby used Label.M Hairspray and Shine Mist all over the coif. Models who sported scarves over their heads and faces had their hair, which was devoid of product, fixed in buns.
