To match Burberry’s taupe and mustard trenches for next spring, makeup artist Wendy Rowe whipped up a face featuring an eye layered with brown hues and a nude mouth.

“They look like they have been in a summer shower,” Rowe said of the model’s dewy faces. She intensified the eye with a Shu Uemura eye cream, taupe liner and brown mascara.

Hairstylist Paul Hanlon worked under the guidelines of natural, outdoorsy hair that got caught up in jackets. He sprayed locks with Bumble and bumble surf spray to give it a piece-y texture, then tucked the hair behind the ears to give it a bend and frame the face.

“It’s a Stella Tennant-type girl who is sophisticated but not too perfect,” Hanlon said. “We are calling it ‘chic grunge.’”
