The Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. has named Jane Lauder senior vice president and general manager of its Origins brand.

Lauder, who will officially take the post on July 1, replaces Daria Myers, who stepped down as president of Origins two weeks ago. Myers, who was one of the founding executives of Origins, spent 31 years at Lauder and is expected to return to the firm in a senior advisory role after taking some time off.

As part of the management reorganization at Origins, Jane Hertzmark Hudis, who is president overseeing Lauder's BeautyBank and Ojon businesses, will also oversee Origins. Lauder will report to Hertzmark Hudis.

Lauder, who is a granddaughter of the company's founder, Estée Lauder, has been senior vice president of global marketing for the company's Clinique brand since July 2006.

"Jane is an extremely innovative marketer and talented business leader," stated William P. Lauder, chief executive officer of Estée Lauder, who is also a cousin of Jane Lauder. "Her strong management skills, coupled with her deep understanding of the dynamic global retail environment, will be hugely valuable as she leads and grows the Origins brand around the world."

"[Origins] is a brand I've admired since its creation in 1990," said Jane Lauder, who added that she will work to grow the brand globally.

At Clinique, Jane Lauder has been responsible for the brand's strategic marketing and positioning. This has included product development and launching the brand in new categories and channels of distribution. The company stated that she has been "instrumental" in recent product launches, including the introductions of Clinique's Acne Solutions and Almost Powder Makeup items, as well as the February debut of Clinique on QVC. Jane Lauder also helped develop a line of Clinique products that is to be introduced later this year in doctor's offices, items that were developed in collaboration with Allergan.

Before joining Clinique, Lauder was vice president of marketing for BeautyBank, a role she took on in 2003. Prior to that, Lauder worked for the Stila brand, which was then part of the company, and she previously was with Clinique once before.
