LI & FUNG UNIT WINS AWARD: Li & Fung USA's private label brands division, Young Stuff Apparel Group, has won Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s 2006 Supplier of the Year accolade in the women's plus-size apparel category, Li & Fung said. Young Stuff was acquired by Li & Fung in 2005 and became the basis of its private label group, which designs women's and men's apparel collections that are sold to department stores, mass merchants and discounters. Young Stuff previously was recognized by Wal-Mart as Supplier of the Year in 2004, also in the women's plus-size category.

NIKE AND FITNESS: In honor of National Physical Fitness and Sports Month and National Physical Education and Sport Week, both of which kicked off Tuesday, Nike is hosting NikeGO PE events in more than 400 schools in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Memphis and Portland, Ore. Students, Nike athletes and local dignitaries are participating in new PE activities to keep kids active and ensure that physical education classes remain in schools.

TRUNK LTD. DEAL: Live Nation, the concert promotion, entertainment venue and digital distribution company, has acquired the remaining interest in the Trunk Ltd., the Culver City, Calif.-based women's, men's and kids' apparel company whose majority stake Live Nation acquired in July 2006. Terms were not disclosed. Trunk founder Brad Beckerman, chief executive officer and creative director, has left. Rock 'n' roll designer Henry Duarte has been named creative director. Chief financial officer Marc Choper has been promoted to president and ceo. Duarte is putting his signature collection on hold to lead design for all of Trunk Ltd.'s apparel, including its core vintage-style T-shirts, hoodies and jean jackets, and eventually, an expanded lifestyle collection. Trunk Ltd. has more than 60 exclusive licenses with bands including The Beatles, The Grateful Dead and The Rolling Stones and sells in 600 stores worldwide.
