The Fashion Delivers Charitable Foundation Inc. has named six industry representatives to its board.
The individuals join a 26-member board comprising executives from the apparel and home fashion industries who have a commitment to helping disaster victims.
The new board members are: Todd Kahn, general counsel and executive vice president, Coach; Ruth Finley, president, The Fashion Calendar; Michael Goldsmith, partner, Silverberg Stonehill Goldsmith & Haber; Jeff Goldfarb, director of business development, G-III Apparel Group Ltd.; Ken Ohashi, vice president, investor and media relations, Aéropostale Inc., and Yasmine Zdencaj, manager, creative and commercialization strategy, Limited Brands.
"Fashion Delivers is most fortunate to have such outstanding members of the industry represented on its board," said Allan Ellinger, the charity's founder and chairman.
Since the nonprofit's inception in 2005, it has distributed more than $20 million in new product from the men's, women's and home product industries to victims of disasters around the world.
"We can never have enough product," Ellinger said. "Many companies find themselves with overstocked merchandise they have no use for and which others can benefit greatly from. Fashion Delivers welcomes companies to join recognized names in the industry who have already contributed so generously."
