Sure, a smoky eye is a runway staple, but Pat McGrath gave the concept a metal makeover Monday afternoon at Oscar de la Renta. Using a new Cover Girl eye shadow palette due in July, McGrath swept black metallic powder along the outer third of the eyelid, placed copper shadow in the middle and added gold shadow on the inside third of the eyelid, finishing the look with Cover Girl LashBlast black mascara. A hint of gold eye shadow was applied to the cheekbones to catch the light, and McGrath added a nude lip to keep the focus on the dramatic eyes.

Orlando Pita went for a simple hair look, parting hair off-center and flat-ironing it with a T3 iron. “It just feels right for the moment,” he said, admitting that it was a bit of a challenge to convince de la Renta, who often favors elegant updos at his runway shows. “With these designs, you want the hair to move and not to distract.”
