Paco Rabanne’s No Couture Bag

Function meets design in Paco Rabanne’s innovative new bag range, No Couture, which was produced entirely without seams. Just as the house’s visionary founder used metal rings to link materials on dresses, here metal staples joined details and handles on the bags. All the pieces are handmade in France. Sleek, rectangular totes in standard and oversize versions came in a combination of luxury leathers, some with mirrored finishes, and exotic skins. Among the standouts was a tote covered in a thick layer of silver nail-like beads that the company has named Fur Tote, though there’s not a strand of fur on it. Clutches, also available in two sizes, carry the signature Rabanne chain strap. Prices range from 750 euros, or about $1,000 at average exchange rates, for a rubber tote, to 6,500 euros, or $8,600 for fur.
